How Does Veterinary Urgent Care Work?

We Treat Your Pet's Non-Emergent Needs

Veterinary urgent care functions similarly to human urgent care, providing immediate attention to pets experiencing non-life-threatening emergencies. Our facility is designed to handle situations that require prompt medical attention but are not severe enough to warrant a visit to a full-service emergency veterinary hospital.

When a pet is brought into a veterinary urgent care center, the process typically begins with a triage. The veterinary staff assesses the severity of the pet's condition to prioritize treatment based on medical need. Following this, the pet is examined by a veterinarian who will diagnose the issue and propose a treatment plan. This could range from medication to minor surgical procedures.

It's important to note that while veterinary urgent care centers are equipped to handle a wide range of situations, extremely critical cases may still be referred to a specialized emergency hospital.

What to Expect at LVUC

Step 1: Identify the Need

Step 2: Evaluate Availability

Step 3: Verify Hours

Step 4: Make the Visit

Step 5: Skip the Line

Step 6: Follow-Up Care

Your pet has an urgent but non-emergent medical concern. This could be anything from a minor injury to a sudden illness that doesn't seem life-threatening but still requires prompt attention.

Your regular vet can't see your pet soon enough or their office hours don't align with your schedule. You also don't believe your pet's condition is severe enough to warrant a visit to the emergency room.

Check the operating hours of our urgent care facility. Unlike emergency rooms, our urgent care center is not open 24/7. Choose a facility that can accommodate your schedule.

Once you've chosen LVUC, take your pet in for a visit. Remember to bring any relevant medical records or information that could assist in your pet's care.

Skip the line by calling ahead or checking in online prior to your visit.

After your visit, follow up with your regular vet if necessary. All records from the visit will be sent to your regular veterinarian to ensure continuity of care and appropriate follow ups.

Get in Line Now

To make your visit more convenient and efficient for both you and your pet, LVUC offers the option to check in online. This feature allows you to skip the walk-in wait, securing your place in line before you even arrive.

Minimize your waiting time and ensure your pet gets the care they need as quickly as possible.
